### How to calculate the cost of water used to fill a swimming pool

First, calculate the number of gallons to fill the pool. To do this, determine the length, width, average depth and multiplier.

**Length** x **Width** x **Average Depth** x **Multiplier** = **Gallons**.

To determine the **Multiplier**

Rectangle, Square, or Free-form pools: **Multiplier = 7.5**

Round or Oval pools: **Multiplier = 5.9**

To determine the **Average Depth** of a pool where the bottom slopes, measure the shallow end and the deep end, then
add the two numbers together and divide by 2.

### EXAMPLE:

Shallow End = 2 feet, Deep End = 10 feet

2' + 10' = 12'

12' / 2 = 6 foot avg depth.
